What is acculturation? Why Belongingness?

Acculturation is the process of social, psychological, and cultural change that stems from blending between cultures. The effects of acculturation can be seen at multiple levels in both the original (native) and newly adopted (host) cultures.

Why belongingness? Belongingess is one of the results of acculturation. The idea was that if a newcomer feels like they truly belong to their new environment, their ability and agility to find meaningful employment will be faster than those who do not feel like they belong. The study validated this theory. The videos here are a sample of the many stories of Canadian newcomers and their counterparts showcasing their journeys to belongingness.
